Afterdeployment.org
Approximately 20% of OIF/OEF Service Members report adjustment problems in the months following a deployment. Limited provider availability and the stigma of being labeled with a "mental illness" are some of the barriers to seeking face-to-face care. In this light, the need for online behavioral health tools has never been greater.
Afterdeployment.org is an online resource powered by Feathercap PLE supporting all U.S. Service Members, their Families, and Veterans, with common post-deployment concerns. The website provides self-care solutions targeting post-traumatic stress, depression, anger, sleep, relationship concerns, and other mental health challenges. Feathercap provides and tracks all content and assessments.
- Feathercap PLE was chosen as the underlying LMS and delivery vehicle of all content and assessments.
- All content and assessments are hosted by us in our datacenters using our multi-tenant/ SAAS based LMS but integrated into Afterdeployment.org's own datacenter and user interface.
- As of September 2010 over 109,000 visitors, veterans, active service members and their families have gone to the site.
- In a consortium including the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs and a national network of military and civilian agencies, community leaders, advocacy groups, clinical experts, and academic institutions to establish best practices and quality standards for the treatment of mental illness
- The latest release will be in January 2011 with continuous additional releases of new assessments and materials in the future.
